An orca lover’s ‘white whale’: This unique house just hit the market in Sooke (PHOTOS/VIDEO)

If you are obsessed with all things orca and have $1.6 million burning a hole in your pocket, this could be the home of your dreams.

The house known to some as the ‘orca house’ is officially on the housing market in Sooke.

It’s a custom built home in the Silver Spray neighbourhood of Sooke that is 3780 square feet and includes four bathrooms, three bedrooms and parking room for five vehicles.

“We have had interest but we don’t have our buyer yet,” Neal Estate Group Realtor, April Spackman told Victoria Buzz. “I certainly have had an increase in inquiries since the home went viral.”

“We are hopeful for a sale in the next two weeks but it’s not uncommon for a unique home like this one to take a little longer.”

When asked if the orcas came with the home and the current homeowners intentions with them, Spackman told Victoria Buzz that they love the orcas and they are more than happy to either take them or leave them behind if the new owners will appreciate the whales in the same way.

“They added them because they commonly watch the whale tours at the point beyond,” said Spackman. “They liken it to having their Canadian flag in the front of their yard. They’re proud of their country and their specific location above Orca Alley.”

“They love the colour throughout the home because to them colour is like music. While most modern homes feature the standard white and grey tones, the bright colour to them is like a detailed piece of music.”

The home is still on the market and if you’re interested in buying it you can inquire online.
