A small kitchen fire broke out in a home at 1636 Amphion Street just after 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
The fire was caused by a stove top that had been left on. It is believed a frying pan left on the stove started the blaze.
The fire was quickly brought under control and damage to the home was limited to the kitchen. The rest of the house sustained heavy smoke and water damage.
The fire caused more than $100,000 in damage and its cause is still under investigation.
A family of five resided in the home and were not a the residence when the fire started.
