It’s true – UVic really is one of the most environmentally conscious campuses in Canada!
According to a report released by Corporate Knights, the University of Victoria scored the spot of 8th greenest campus, out of a total of 71 colleges and universities across Canada.
The index was measured by using data from the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS), where campuses can measure their sustainability performance by using the website’s self-reporting framework.
A total of 13 factors were used by Corporate Knight in determining which universities are the greenest, including clean air management, environment-friendly dining certification, waste management, green transportation, and sustainable investments.
