Boxing fans, get ready to rumble!
Boxing Canada announced Monday that the country’s biggest Olympic boxing competition, the 2019 Super Channel Championships, will be hosted by Boxing BC.
The national event will be held from April 23rd – 27th at the Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort & Spa in Langford, and will feature boxers from coast to coast facing off in preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
“Boxing BC is excited to go above and beyond to host the best championships held to date,” says Ryan O’Shea, President of Boxing BC.
The championships last came to British Columbia in 2009 in Richmond and in 2005 in Prince George. They were hosted in Edmonton this year.
Langford Mayor Stew Young says hosting the event is a knockout win for a city that set out 15 years ago to rebrand itself as a premiere sports destination for the province.
