UPDATE: Cook Street has reopened following a serious collision between a car and a motorcycle just after 5 p.m. Monday evening.
Sadly, Victoria police have confirmed the motorcyclist in the collision today did not survive.

Police are investigating after a serious collision in downtown Victoria left a motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries Monday evening.
VicPD were dispatched to a collision between a car and a motorcycle at View and Cook streets just before 5 p.m.
Two people have been transported to hospital. The motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries.
Police said the cause of the collision is still being investigated by a collision reconstruction team.
Cook Street remains closed in both directions between Fort and Yates streets.
Anyone with information about this incident but have not spoken with an officer is asked to contact the VicPD non-emergency line at 250-995-7654.

Police have not released the identity of any drivers involved.
