Port Alberni RCMP ask potential victims to come forward in sexual assault investigation

Port Alberni RCMP are asking potential victims of sexual assault to come forward and speak with them as their investigation into a local man continues to develop.

In March 2019, RCMP began investigating Port Alberni resident Colin Robert Hall for sexual assault crimes.

As the case developed, officers were able to identify multiple victims, with allegations ranging over several years and in a variety of locations.

A number of the victims were also determined to be minors during the time the alleged incidents took place.

In May 2019, Hall was arrested and charged with 7 counts of sexual assault, 7 counts of sexual interference, and 3 counts of invitation to sexual touching.

Since then, he has been released on a recognizance of bail with several strict conditions, including:

  • Not to have contact with any of his alleged victims.
  • Not to be alone with any person under 18 years of age.
  • No activities, volunteer or job with persons under 18 years without permission of a bail supervisor.
  • Not to be found where persons under 18 years of age may be found (including school grounds, playgrounds, swimming areas public parks etc.).

RCMP area asking anyone who may have been a victim to contact the Port Alberni detachment at 250-723-2424.

Hall’s next court date is set for September 11th, 2019, in Port Alberni.
