Get ready for a wet and windy day, Victoria.
According to Environment Canada, a vigorous frontal system is approaching the south coast this morning bring with it strong winds and heavy rain.
The weather agency says southeast winds of 70 km/h will develop this morning over the exposed areas of Sunshine Coast; central and northern sections of East Vancouver Island as well as the Southern Gulf Islands and Greater Victoria.
The strong southeast winds will spread to the exposed areas of Metro Vancouver and southern sections of Howe Sound this afternoon.
Winds will ease and shift to northwest 40 km/h late this afternoon or early this evening as the front passes through.
