Don’t be alarmed, Victoria, if your water is tasting or smelling a little off over the next few weeks.
In a release, the Capital Regional District (CRD) says that Greater Victoria residents might notice a change in the taste and smell of drinking water.
Despite this, they assure the public that the water remains safe to drink during this time.
According to the CRD, temporary adjustments to the disinfection process may lead to stronger than usual chlorine smell and taste in tap water in some parts of the region.
The water adjustments are expected to last until January 15th, 2021.
To counteract any off-putting smell and taste, residents can use regular tap filters or let the tap water stand for 30 minutes prior to consumption.
