The BC Ministry of Health reported 800 new cases of COVID-19 across the province on Thursday, March 25th.
There have been a total of 93,969 cases since the pandemic began.
New cases were reported in these health regions:
Vancouver Coastal Health: 264
Fraser Health: 381
Island Health: 45
Interior Health: 50
Northern Health: 58
There were two new cases of people who reside outside of Canada.
The number of active cases in BC increased from 5,573 to 5,856.
There are now a total of 306 people in hospital due to COVID-19, 79 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.
Five new people have died from COVID-related causes making the provincial death toll at 1,446.
9,964 people are under active public health monitoring after exposure to COVID-19.
A total of 87,351 people have recovered from novel coronavirus.
Outbreaks
There has been one new health-care facility outbreak at Chilliwack General Hospital.

Island Health
Island Health reported 39 new cases of COVID-19 today.
The number of active cases on the island increased by 11 cases to 233 remaining active cases.
Breakdown of cases on Vancouver Island:
- South Vancouver Island: Active cases: 105 (+7) │ Total cases: 841 (+14)
- Central Vancouver Island: Active cases: 109 (+1)│ Total Cases: 1,691(+19)
- North Vancouver Island: Active cases: 19 (+2)│ Total Cases: 490 (+6)
15 people remain in hospital with 2 in ICU.
There were no new deaths in the Island Health region.
28 people have died since the pandemic began.
Vaccinations and Variants
To date, 610,671 (+28,037) doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC, 87,212 (+32) of which are second doses.
There have been 191 new confirmed COVID-19 cases that are variants of concern in our province.
Of the total number of 1,772 confirmed variant cases, 215 cases are active and the remaining people have recovered.
Of the total, 1,549 cases were of the UK variant, 47 cases were of the South Africa variant, and 176 cases of the Brazil variant.
