North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in multiple robberies at knife point over the span of two weeks in Duncan.
During the first incident, which took place at approximately 8:30 p.m. on May 14th, officers responded to a knifepoint robbery at the Canco gas station in Duncan.
According to reports, a female suspect entered the store, brandished a kitchen knife and demanded money and cigarettes.
She was wearing a dark green jacket, lower face covering, cream camo pants and dark boots.
At approximately 9 p.m. on May 15th, officers responded to an attempted robbery at Heritage Indian Cuisine in Duncan.
Police said a female suspect entered the restaurant, produced a knife and demanded money from staff.
Staff refused and the suspect left.
The suspect was wearing green camo pants, a dark jacket, orange gloves and a black face covering.
The same day, at about 9:20 p.m. on May 15th, another report of a robbery came in from a Shell gas station.
Again, a female suspect entered the gas station, produced a knife and demanded money. She was dressed identically to the previous incident at Heritage Indian Cuisine.

Other similar incidents followed on May 22nd and May 29th at the 7-Eleven gas station on Government Street in Duncan, and on the morning of June 1st at the Chevron gas station.
In the last incident, she was described as approximately 35-years-old, standing 5’2” or 5’3” tall, wearing a red hooded shirt, black face covering, black pants and boots.

“We urge business owners and staff, especially of gas stations, to be vigilant and take extra precautions as the suspect remains at large,” said Corporal Alex Bérubé, spokesperson for the BC RCMP.
“Several resources, including the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP Street Crime Unit and General Investigation Section and a Crime Analyst are taking part in these investigations.”
Anyone who may know the identity of the suspect or who has dash cam footage at the intersection of Trunk Road and Trans-Canada Highway from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., Wednesday morning is asked to contact the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at (250) 748-5522.
If you observe anyone matching the description, you are asked to not approach and call 911 immediately.
