After finalizing changes in policy this past August, B.C. Ferries is set to officially become a smoke-free environment.
Starting on Monday, January 22nd, the ban will kick in, making all vessels and terminals smoke-free and restricting the use of tobacco, marijuana, and e-cigarettes.
During each sailing, announcements will be made to remind passengers of the new policy.
“We receive many requests from our customers to offer a smoke-free environment and we are pleased to move in this direction,” they said in a statement.
This policy shift follows recent changes in October where lower deck passengers are prohibited from remaining in their cars on closed vehicle decks.
