Saanich man succumbs to injuries suffered in single-vehicle motorcycle crash

A 33 year old Saanich resident has succumbed to injuries he suffered in a single vehicle crash at the intersection Glanford Avenue and Leaside Avenue in the early hours of October 4.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a motorcycle with significant damage and a  single rider suffering serious head injuries.

He was transported to the Victoria General Hospital and placed into a medically induced coma. He succumbed to the injuries on October 14th.

Police say a preliminary investigation indicates that the rider may have been operating the motorcycle while under the influence of both alcohol and drugs.

The mans name has not been released and the BC Coroners Service continues to investigate.

According to CFAX 1070, he is the third motorcyclist to be killed in a collision this year in Greater Victoria.
