Safe to say, Victoria is a pretty Insta-friendly location. Which makes it no surprise that it’s made itself into the top-10 most Instagrammed Canadian cities of 2017, according to Daily Hive.

Most Instagrammed Places in Canada – 2017

  1. Toronto, Ontario
  2. Montreal, Quebec
  3. Vancouver, British Columbia
  4. Calgary, Alberta
  5. Ottawa, Ontario
  6. Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada
  7. Edmonton, Alberta
  8. Winnipeg, Manitoba
  9. Victoria, British Columbia
  10. Mississauga, Ontario

Other than Niagara Falls, whose inclusion on the list speaks for itself, Victoria is the only city on the list with a population less than 700,000. Either we’re all Instagram fiends, or it’s just a pretty place to spend some time in.

Or both.

Two British Columbia locations most Instagrammed in Canada

Based on population, it’s no surprise the top Canadian Instagram locations and cities are out east. There’s more people there. But a few British Columbia destinations made the list, and perhaps fittingly, B.C. possesses the only off-the-grid location, a hat tip to the tremendous outdoor lifestyle B.C. has to offer.

Whistler Blackcomb slotted in at number 4, trailing spots in Toronto: the Air Canada Centre, Pearson International Airport, and the Rogers Centre.

Vancouver International Airport made its way onto the list at number 10. Perhaps it’s because they introduced therapy dogs recently. Or, it could be thousands of impatient Victorians Instagramming their trials and tribulations in having a 3-hour layover for a 20 minute flight back to the island.
