Yet another human foot has washed up on a beach in the Salish Sea.

On Sunday afternoon, a Gabriola Island resident discovered a decomposing human foot in a hiking boot stuck in a logjam on a beach near South Road.

Gabriola RCMP and the BC Coroner’s Service are working to identify who the remains belong to. Nanaimo RCMP Forensic Identification Service were also on site but did not find any other human parts.

The B.C. Coroner’s Service will now attempt to identify the deceased and determine the cause of death.

This is the 15th foot discovered along the B.C. coastline since 2007. It’s been determined 10 of them were linked to people who died by suicide or by accident.
