Victoria man arrested after allegedly assaulting two people with a knife

Victoria Police arrested a man at gunpoint after he allegedly attacked two people with a knife.

At around 7 p.m. on Monday night, officers were called to the 900-block of Pandora Ave for reports of an assault with a knife.

Upon arrival, they found two victims and several witnesses, along with surveillance footage of the incident that showed the suspect and clear clothing description.

Fortunately, no one required medical treatment for physical injuries sustained during this incident.

The suspect was soon located in a park near Mason Street, and when police moved to stop him, he tried to walk away.

When the officer ordered the suspect to stop, he refused to do so and turned around to face police.

Knowing that he was armed with a knife, the officer then pulled out his weapon and ordered the suspect to lay down on the ground.

He complied with the order and was held at gunpoint until other officers arrived and took him into custody.

The suspect was transported to cells and held for morning court. Police are recommending charges including assault, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
