Get those shovels ready just in case, Victoria!

Temperatures are dropping and a band of moisture is making its way through southern Vancouver Island on Monday.

According to Environment Canada, heavy wet snow is possible over higher elevations, including the Malahat, as a low pressure system crosses Washington state.

Areas with the heaviest precipitation will see the heavy rain switch over to heavy wet snow above 150 metres elevation during the day.

Mixed rain and snow is even possible at sea level, according to the weather agency.

Snowfall accumulations are uncertain at this time, but could arrive as early as Monday morning.
