10 things to do in and around Victoria this Mother’s Day weekend, May 13th to 14th

The sun will be shining and it’ll be our first summer-like weekend of the year with temperatures skyrocketing to 28 degrees!

And don’t forget, it’s Mother’s Day this Sunday!

From carnivals to pickle boat tours, here are # things to do in and around Victoria this this Mother’s Day weekend, May 13th to 14th:

Quadra Village Day

Enjoy a free pancake breakfast, snacks and coffee (available to all from 10:00am–11:30 am), and stay for live music, dances, inflatables, children’s activities and more!

  • Where: On Kings Road between Quadra and Dowler

Esquimalt Buccaneer Days

Wakey Wakey, Esquimalt! By fan affair, Buccaneer Days is returning to the township this weekend!

The 3-day event will take place from Friday, May 12th to Sunday the 14th at Esquimalt’s Archie Browning Sport Centre.

Quazar’s X Bay Centre Arcade Pop-up

Play some arcade games downtown! This spring and summer there will be no shortage of things to do in Victoria and the Bay Centre just added one more thing to that long list!

They are teaming up with Quazar’s to bring in a wide variety of arcade games that people can play any time of the day during the shopping centre’s hours of operation.

Come From Away

With two sold out weeks at the Royal Theatre, Come From Away has broken all Victoria records for ticket sales. By popular demand, another four shows have now been added.

This New York Times Critics’ Pick takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.

Marcus Trummer

Marcus Trummer has built a reputation as a compelling live performer, a precocious guitarist whose vocals possess a “wise beyond his years weariness.” Join Marcus with special guests Gary Preston & The Kingmakers for an evening of superlative entertainment.

  • When: Saturday May 13th, doors open at 7 p.m. and show starts at 8:30 p.m.

Pickle Boat Ballet Performance

This Sunday marks the beginning of the free Pickle Boat Ballet performances that will run throughout the summer. The performance will start at 10:45 a.m. and the best seats are located in front of the Steamship Terminal.

It’s worth noting that the event takes place on Sunday, which also happens to be Mother’s Day. To celebrate the occasion, moms can ride for free on the Victoria Harbour Ferry all day.

  • When: Sunday May 14th, Pickle Boat Ballet starts at 10 a.m., rides are throughout the day

Made for Mom at Mayfair

A Mother’s Day event you do not want to miss!! Local Artisans, beverage garden, Bouncy castles, face painting, balloon animals, Live music and the best part, FREE gifts for mom!

The Spongebob Musical at McPherson Playhouse

No matter what your age, everyone loves Spongebob!

And this May, Victoria On Stage Musical Theatre is bringing him (along with his friends!) to a stage near you—right here in Victoria.

In this performance suitable for Spongebob fans of all ages, you’ll follow Spongebob, Patrick, Sandy and the whole community of Bikini Bottom as they try to save their world from Mount Humongous, a nearby volcano, before it erupts!

Sirens of Song 2

Back after a successful 2018 concert is Sirens of Song 2 featuring Stephanie Greaves
singing all your favorite female singer/songwriters from the golden age of rock, and the Jaya Bremer Sextet with their Patsy Cline Tribute!

You’ll hear all the hits such as Crazy, Walkin’ After Midnight, Sweet Dreams, I Fall to
Pieces and many more!

Mother’s Day Performance at Butchart Gardens

Check out a performance by the Greater Victoria (Senior) Concert Band from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., this Mother’s Day at the Butchart Gardens.
