The news many Victorians have been waiting for has arrived.
The Passenger Transportation Board (PTB) confirmed popular ride-hailing service, Uber, has finally been approved to operate in Victoria.
The PTB approval comes after company purchased a previously approved operating licence from ReRyde.
Uber has attempted to launch its ride-sharing service in Victoria for the past couple years, but after being declined in 2021, the company began looking into acquiring an already approved license.
“Victoria and Kelowna, you are one step closer to requesting a ride with the tap of a button,” said Uber Canada in a social media post Wednesday.
“We plan to launch soon and will provide more information in the coming days.”
