Happy Thursday, Victoria!

Assuming it’s sunny (crossing our fingers), we have a bunch of outdoor activities picked out to give you some ideas for your August evening.

Whether it’s wandering around a market, watching a Shakespeare play, or listening to live music on the beach, we know you’ll find the best way to spend your night.

Not really feeling the outdoor vibe? That’s fine — there’s an indoor event at Lucky Bar that is sure to keep you dancing until late!

Without further ado, here’s 5 things to do in and around Victoria on Thursday, August 10th:

Thursdays at Bastion Square Market

Thursdays are for the local artisans and art bazaar — the crafters, the creators, and the dreamers!

Come and see what they have to offer and browse the extensive list of vendors set up throughout Bastion Square and take home some goodies.

There’s even some live music to enjoy between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.!

These markets are free to attend.

  • Where: 26 Bastion Square
  • When: Thursday, August 10th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Swingin’ in the Shell

Another week of Thursday night dancing out at Beacon Hill Park!

Pile into the Cameron Bandshell for an evening of rhythmic beats, a welcoming atmosphere, and lots of dancing.

Everyone is invited regardless of skill level and age — it’s not necessary to arrive with a partner either, everyone gets a dancing chance!

This event is free to attend.

  • Where 250 Bridge Way
  • When: Thursday, August 10th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

K-Pop Night

Ready for your waiting eyes and ears — K-Pop night is back at Lucky Bar for another evening of favourite songs and videos!

The event will feature Soju Bombs and DJ Rupert Cameron with videos from artists such as BlackPink, Twice, BTS, Girls Generation, 2NE1, Stray Kids, Le Sserafim, Itzy, and many more.

Cover charge is $12 and tickets can be purchased here.

Oak Bay Summer Concert Series

Enjoy the stunning backdrop of Willows Beach as you take in the wonderful live music that Victoria has to offer!

Thursday’s show presents the Capital City Syncopators — described as Victoria’s finest prohibition-era dance band, they’re a mix of trad jazz, western swing and 80’s favourites.

Guaranteed to sweep you off your feet and onto the dance floor!

Family friendly and free to attend.

  • Where: Willows Beach
  • When: Thursday, August 10th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Cowichan Valley Shakespeare Festival

This one requires a bit of a jaunt up island but we think it might be worth seeing!

Back for their twelfth year, The Shawnigan Players bring to audiences an open air, live performance of All’s Well That Ends Well by William Shakespeare — a classic comedy about love.

The event is hosted in the gorgeous Gem O’ the Isle orchard, complementing the light atmosphere of the play and allowing everyone to take advantage of the August weather.

Individual tickets are $25, however, they also offer a “Family Pass” for up to 5 people for $50.

  • Where: 2465 Koksilah Road, Duncan
  • When: Thursday, August 10th from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
