A second Zellers pop-up store is slated to open in Victoria this month.
As part of their resurgence, Zellers is once again expanding its pops up in Hudson’s Bay locations across the country just in time for the upcoming holiday season.
The latest addition to this retail expansion is the brand new Zellers store-in-store opening at Victoria’s Mayfair Shopping Centre.
With a rich history dating back to its inception in 1931, Zellers once dotted the Canadian retail landscape with hundreds of stores.
After being acquired by Hudson’s Bay in 1978, the iconic brand seemed to lose its way, leading to the closure of most locations by 2013. However, it has experienced a remarkable resurgence in recent years, with its return celebrated by an ever-growing fanbase.
The new Zellers store-in-store at Mayfair Shopping Centre is set to open its doors later this month, inviting customers to rediscover the beloved Canadian brand.
The Mayfair location joins the ranks of 24 existing store-in-stores and 22 pop-ups that have sprung up earlier this year, including at the Bay Centre. This expansion brings the total number of Zellers within Hudson’s Bay stores to a staggering 78 locations across Canada.
These pop-ups range in size from 1,000 to 2,800 square feet, with Queen Street in Toronto being the exception.
Store-in-stores, on the other hand, offer a more extensive shopping experience, spanning 8,000 to 10,000 square feet. The introduction of these pop-ups serves as a strategic market test, helping the brand determine future Zellers store locations.

The final batch of Zellers pop-ups within Hudson’s Bay is set to open by September 22nd, which includes Victoria’s Mayfair Shopping Centre location.
