Dreams do come true: Annual ‘Fuel Good Day’ at Peninsula Co-op to raise money for charity

Share

If you’re in need of a fuel top-up, stop by a Peninsula Co-op this Tuesday, September 19th!

Fuel Good Day is upon us, and to raise money for the Help Fill A Dream Foundation, five cents from every litre of fuel sold at any of Peninsula Co-op’s 18 gas stations  will be donated to help a dream come true.

This special day has been supporting families and children with life-threatening illnesses since 1986, operating quietly in the background to bring joy and comfort to those that need it.

“This Island, our home, inspires Dreams and together we can make them come true,” said Craig Smith, Executive Director at Help Fill A Dream.

Additionally, the Hyatt Family Foundation has promised to match funds raised on Fuel Good Day up to $25,000!

“It’s heartwarming to see the community’s commitment to support our Island kids, many

driving on fumes in the days leading up to the event so they can squeeze in as many litres as possible!” said Lindsay Gaudette, Director of Marketing and Community Relations for Peninsula Co-op.

On top of helping Dreams come true, Help Fill A Dream offers families relief by providing financial assistance to help with travel costs associated with receiving health care, medical or therapeutic equipment to address special needs, and therapeutic resources.

Help Fill A Dream wants to provide support to families during trying times, so they can concentrate on the health, care and recovery of their child without the added financial stress.

If you’ve already filled up, you can donate on their website!
