Here’s how Victoria cyclists can ride the bus for free during Go By Bike Week

Share

Great news for the cyclists in the city!

The Victoria Regional Transit Commission and BC Transit have announced free transit as a part of Go By Bike week from October 16th to 19th.

In order to qualify for free transit, customers taking part in Go By Bike must use the bus bike racks or show their bike helmet when boarding the bus.

As described, having bike racks available on all conventional BC Transit buses makes using two forms of sustainable transit easier than ever.

It allows for more flexibility if there is a change in the weather throughout the day too—rain or shine you’ll be able to get home without the gas prices and environmental footprint.

In addition to receiving free transit, participants can enjoy a range of Go By Bike’s festivities including celebration stations along popular routes, challenges, and hundreds of prizes!

To register and learn more about the program and benefits, you can visit the Go By Bike website

Most bikes can be accommodated on BC Transit buses but bike space is limited and cannot be guaranteed.
