As the festive season ramps up, the excitement for Victoria’s beloved Santa Claus Parade heightens, and Victorians are in for a treat weather-wise!

According to Environment Canada, the weather forecast promises a delightful backdrop for the weekend’s festivities, sunny predictions that are sure to bring smiles as wide as Santa’s own.

Victoria’s weather forecast suggests the city is set to revel in sunny skies for the next seven days at the very least.

This forecast sets the stage for a picturesque setting for the eagerly awaited Santa Claus Parade, spreading cheer and merriment throughout the city.

While the days may be filled with sunshine and warmth, it’s advisable to bundle up as the temperatures are expected to hover between 7°C and 9°C during the day.

As the night approaches, the mercury will dip down to a cozy 1°C or 2°C, reminding everyone to don their favorite scarves and mittens to stay snug while enjoying the festivities under the starlit sky.

Whether you’re planning to partake in the festive parade or explore the city’s seasonal offerings, the weather seems to be in perfect harmony with the holiday spirit.

So, get your jingle bells ready, Victoria, and embrace the sunny forecast as you gear up for a weekend filled with holiday magic, cheer, and the warmth of community celebrations.

It’s time to bundle up, gather your loved ones, and revel in the seasonal joy that only this time of the year can bring!

This year marks the 41st annual Peninsula Co-op Santa Claus Parade—slap on your toque and mitts and get downtown to witness the glory of all of the lights and decorations.

The parade will take place on Saturday, November 25th and features 60 magnificently crafted floats awaiting your ready eyes!

The route begins at Belleville and Government Street and the parade is scheduled to start at 5:20 p.m.

Get there early to grab a seat, eat at one of their on-site food trucks, or pop into one of the many incredible local restaurants in the area while you wait!

The floats will move north along Government, east on Humboldt, and then north on Douglas, where it will end at Fisgard.

If anyone is feeling chilly or you’re in need of a warm refreshment, Mustard Seed Street Church and Food Bank will be giving out hot chocolate and cookies by donation to parade-goers at Douglas and Humboldt starting at 4:30 p.m.

Mustard Seed will be graciously accepting non-perishable food items and new or gently used toys as well!

Additionally, the Victoria Disability Resource Centre will be offering live audio descriptions this year at their location at Government and Belleville—for more information visit their website.

Following the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be taking photos by donation at the Hudson Holiday Plaza (Victoria Public Market) along with drinks and goodies!

For those looking for parking, there will be multiple parkades and lots offering free parking on November 25th as a part of the Downtown Victoria Business Association (DVBA), the Bay Centre, and Robbins Parking’s free parking days.

The following parkades are included in the promotion:

City of Victoria Parkades:

  • Broughton Street
  • Yates Street
  • Johnson Street
  • View Street

Robbins Lots/Parkades:

Make sure you arrive early, as there are other events happening downtown that are bound to draw crowds as well!

Also, it’s important to note that in order for this event to commence without risk, road closures will begin downtown at 3:30 p.m. and will cause a temporary disruption of traffic flow downtown.

There will be digital signs for route closures on Esquimalt Road and Douglas at Hillside.
