We’ve got an epic double-header of Victoria Royals hockey for you as well as a reminder to partake in the highly-anticipated Dine Around event happening throughout the city.

Vancouver Giants vs. Victoria Royals

Get ready for two fantastic evenings of hockey as the Victoria Royals face off against the Vancouver Giants!

Each game will feature some exciting bonus events, including tech demos at Saturday’s game and the opportunity to skate with the team following Sunday’s game.

Shackleton – Greatest Story of Survival: IMAX

Use the chill outside as an excuse to cozy up for an incredible film, Shackleton – Greatest Story of Survival, in IMAX!

In the early 1900s, Sir Ernest Shackleton set sail with 27 men to attempt to cross the frozen continent of Antarctica on foot. His vessel became trapped in sea ice. After nearly a year locked in the ice, the ship was crushed, forcing the crew into a desperate battle to survive and find their way back to civilization.

Join explorer Tim Jarvis on this incredible experience, reliving Shackleton’s harrowing journey while crossing the perilous landscapes of the great Antarctica and South Georgia.

Dine Around and Stay in Town 2024

Brought to you by Destination Greater Victoria and the BC Restaurant and Food Services Association Victoria Branch, Dine Around will be celebrating its 20th anniversary—happening from January 26th through February 11th!

You can check out the full line-up of participating restaurants here, featuring newcomers like Good Ovening, FARO Handcrafted Pizza and Tasting Room, Marilena Café + Raw Bar, and Hermann’s Jazz Club.

On the ‘stay’ side of things, you can make it a night on the town and enjoy discounted rates on room bookings during the Dine Around program period. This year, they’re offering deals from this list of twelve Greater Victoria hotels!

Hot Chocolate Festival

Our mouths are already watering—and if you’re a fellow hot chocolate fan, yours will be too!

In case you haven’t had the chance to indulge in the hot chocolate craze happening in Victoria right now, there’s still plenty of time.

The Hot Chocolate Festival kicked off on January 20th and will be running until February 20th—so you have plenty of opportunities to check out the masterful hot chocolate creations around town.

The participating local businesses will be putting the money raised towards the BC SPCA Victoria Community Animal Centre!

Participating locations include popular hotspots like the Fairmont Empress, Chocolate & Co, Pure Lovin’, Shirley Delicious, and more.

Isle of Tease Burlesque Festival

Here to bring the heat to Victoria, the Isle of Tease is ready to capture your attention and hearts.

The Isle of Tease Burlesque Festival delights its audiences with both award winning global performers as well as local dynamos!

It kicked off on Friday, January 26th and you can catch their last performance this Saturday.

These performers not only showcase exceptional burlesque and performance art talent, but the event as a whole also contributes to the local arts and culture scene, making a lasting impact on the community.

Tickets for this event are just under $55 per show!

Emily Carr House Tea Launch

Join the team at Emily Carr House for the launch of their new tea, the Carr House Tea Blend, created in collaboration with Murchie’s Tea!

Rave Crafters

Organized specifically for all of our rave lovers in the city of Victoria, Community Art Hub will be hosting a rave sign making event so you never lose your pals in a huge crowd!

They’ll be blasting some EDM tunes and will provide all the tools, adhesives, glitter, vinyl, and sparkly nonsense you could possibly need.

Suggested donation is $5 to cover the cost of the materials.

To celebrate Barb DeRousie’s latest collection titled, Abstract Engagement, Gage Gallery will be hosting a Gala Black & White Opening & Artist Talk this Saturday!

The gallery invites you to immerse yourself in the vibrant colors, shapes, and textures that bring her abstract creations to life.

Guests will receive a complimentary drink and bite to eat as well as have the chance to enter to win a free draw!

The Don Leppard Big Band

Come to Hermann’s Jazz Club for a night of swinging tunes and good vibes!

Victoria’s 17-piece Don Leppard Big Band plays everything from Count Basie and Duke Ellington classics to contemporary jazz arrangements.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in person or online.

Indoor Acro Jams

Acro jams at Island Circus Space offers a great opportunity to practice skills you have been working on, or get creative and find something new, and meet and practice with other community members.

They want to remind guests that the jams are all self-directed and no instruction is provided. You’re responsible for your own safety and have to use appropriate spotting techniques.

Drop in is $12 and all levels are welcome, just make sure you reserve your spot ahead of time. No partner is required.

Catch a Film at The Vic Theatre

One of the two Oscar nominated films currently screening at the Vic Theatre is Anatomy of a Fall, and it has been deemed a must-watch!

It’s is a French drama thriller with five Oscar nominations—including Best Picture, Best Actress for Sandra Hüller and Best Director/Original Screenplay for Justine Triet.
