We have an incredible Friday lined up for you, Victoria!

Plenty of time to rest over the weekend, but Friday night is the time to unwind, cheer, dance, and whatever else your heart and mind fancies.

Sway and cheer on a collection of local bands playing in Fernwood, shout and hoot for the most ultimate Motorsports Spectacular event, and much more.

If you’re looking for something a little more low-key but just as enjoyable, The Mint is hosting a Friday night comedy show, and there’s a special family-friendly jazz show at Hermann’s Jazz Club.

Motorsports Spectacular 

Back by popular demand, this event has been dubbed the Motorsports Spectacular, and will be invading the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre from Friday, January 5th to 6th.

There will be a total of three shows to choose from, and you’ll be joined by a collection of motorsport enthusiasts cheering nearly as loudly as the engines’ collected roar!

Featured in the lineup are bone-crunching monster truck racing, a wheelie contest, high-flying freestyle motocross action, and more thrill-a-minute, death-defying stunts.

Prices start at $15 for kids and $30 for adults and you can purchased them here!

Local Collection of Bands at Paul Phillips Hall

Victoria is a hotspot for local bands, and you can catch featured performances Hope City Waters, Juniper Smile, and Sweet Delirium at Paul Phillips Hall in Fernwood!

Hope City Waters is a Victoria based indie folk soul band, with top-notch songwriting, impactful vocals, and a sound that is reminiscent of bands like Big Thief and Frazey Ford.

Juniper Smile is an indie pop band based in Victoria BC, offering powerful pop vocals that bring together a nostalgic, but refreshing 90s vibe.

Sweet Delirium is a four-piece band based in Victoria where an eclectic mix of dreampop, shoegaze, and R&B are showcased by melancholy instrumentation and soulful vocals.

Dracula—A Trilogy of Terror

Don’t miss the second movement in the epic Dracula Trilogy of Terror, Part 2: Exhumation!

In collaboration with Bounce Performance Works, UVic Theatre faculty member Brian Richmond has adapted and is directing a public reading of Bram Stoker’s classic 19th century horror story, Dracula.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the UVic Phoenix Theatre one hour before the performance. Tickets are $10 per show.

Seating is first-come-first-served, so show up with plenty of time!

Friday’s at The Mint

Join host Ryan Williams for the first Friday’s at The Mint comedy show of the year!

Bundles of laughter is the best way to begin the weekend and this stand-up comedy special is the perfect place to get your fix.

The West Coast Soul Collective

Head on down to the Hermann’s Jazz Club and join the community in welcoming back the West Coast Soul Collective!

They’re thrilled to play in Victoria again and encourage everyone to come and check out their special, all-ages show.

The band is known to be an exciting and dynamic group of Victoria’s best young musicians, playing high energy Funk, Soul, Rock, Pop, and more!

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online or in person.
