5 things to do in and around Victoria this Wednesday, January 3rd

Hop through the rest of the week feeling refreshed and energized with our selection of fun and laid-back events such as Music Bingo at Darcy’s, an incredible live Dracula adaptation, and much more.

Plus, try something new or strengthen existing dance skills with a couple of newly introduced dance classes with Seda Dance!

Without delay, here’s 5 things to do in and around Victoria on Wednesday, January 3rd:

Dracula—A Trilogy of Terror

This Wednesday will feature the first of three movements/sets in this epic Dracula Trilogy of Terror and is called Part 1: Invasion!

In collaboration with Bounce Performance Works, UVic Theatre faculty member Brian Richmond has adapted and is directing a public reading of Bram Stoker’s classic 19th century horror story, Dracula.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the UVic Phoenix Theatre one hour before the performance. You can pay $10 per show or pay $25 for all three!

Seating is first-come-first-served, so show up with plenty of time!

  • When: Movement One: Wednesday, January 3rd at 7 p.m.

Pointe Classes

Starting January 3rd and running until March 20th, studio instructor Kathy Lang will be offering Beginner Pointe classes with Seda Dance for anyone looking to brush up on skills!

As described, it’s ideal if you have some experience with ballet already—preferably intermediate and above.

It’s $180 for the full run of classes or $20 drop-in, you can purchase here.

  • When: Every Wednesday from January 3rd until March 20th from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Beginner Contemporary Classes

Studio instructor Kathy Lang with Seda Dance will also be offering a beginner Contemporary dance class every Wednesday afternoon for those ages 55 and up from January 3rd until the 31st.

Lang believes that dance is ageless, and no matter where we’re at in terms of ability and skill, it can always heal and strengthen.

It will cost $115 for the whole month and $25 drop-in and you can purchase here (just scroll down slightly).

  • When: Every Wednesday from January 3rd until the 31st from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Comedy Night at The Mint

Dim the lights and set the stage—Morgan Cranny and Drew Farrance have picked another great lineup for this Wednesday’s Phillips comedy night!

Always new and always filling up fast, be sure to get your tickets as soon as possible.

Music Bingo at Darcy’s Pub

Come and hang at Darcy’s Pub for some ‘Play it Loud’ music bingo and participate for the chance to win prizes.

Bring your friends and combined musical knowledge!

Wings will also be on special for $12.
