Ground search underway for missing 19-year-old Duncan man last seen on Valentine’s Day (UPDATED)

A ground search is underway for a 19-year-old man last seen in Lake Cowichan on Valentines.

Lake Cowichan RCMP confirmed they’re seeking help in locating Owen Weld, who was reported missing on Wednesday,February 14th.

He was last seen at around 4 p.m. at the A&W in Lake Cowichan.

It is believed he is driving a black 1996 Toyota Rav4 with BC License Plate TR728D.

“We are very conerned for Owen and are asking the public to keep a look out for him and his vehicle,” say Cst. Brett Urano, Division Media Relations Officer with the BC RCMP.

Description of Owen Weld:

  • white male
  • 19-years-old
  •  5 ft 10 in tall
  • Short brown hair
  • blue eyes
  • heavy build

According to family, a ground search is underway and the Laketown Ranch has volunteered its property as a central post.

An air search has also been deployed.
