12 photos from this year’s TC10K in downtown Victoria on Sunday

The annual tradition of running the TC10K returned this weekend, with the number of runners continuing to climb back to pre-COVID levels.

On Sunday, April 28th, approximately 9,000 people participated in the 35th annual Times Colonist 10K, an increase from around 7,500 runners last year.

Many runners embraced the colourful 1990s-inspired theme, showing up in style with plenty of neon colors.

Although the weather was unpredictable with wind, the rain held off for parts of the morning, allowing participants to enjoy the beautiful and scenic route around the harbour.

Once again, Thomas Nobbs, the men’s champion from Vancouver, was the first runner to cross the finish line at 30 minutes and 6 seconds—he finished first in the 2023 run at 29 minutes and 43 seconds.

Mackenna Fitzgerald was the first woman to cross the line in the women’s elite division at 34:13. The full results from the day can be found here.
