Let the cruise ship season begin!

As the days grow longer and the weather gets warmer, thousands of eager cruise ship passengers will soon experience all that Victoria has to offer!

In anticipation of the summer tourist season, the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GVHA) has posted their expected cruise schedule, and docking will begin next week.

The first cruise ship, named ‘Norwegian Bliss,’ is set to reach Victoria’s shores on Wednesday, April 3rd, and will be carrying over 4,000 passengers. It will also make a visit on Friday, April 12th.

This particular ship entered service in April, 2018 and was recently refurbished in 2021. The ship was built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany!

In addition to its ability to hold over 4,000 passengers, it also hosts over 1,700 crew members and has a grand selection of culinary delights, bars and lounges, entertainment and much more.

Their on-ship Mandara Spa offers over 50 specialty treatments by well-trained massage therapists, as well as a steam room, pool and salt room with body-cleansing salt crystals.

If you’ve forgotten to pack your essentials or are feeling like something extra, there’s plenty of onboard shopping available to passengers too! Mix up your pool and entertainment time with some fun retail therapy.

Room accommodation can range from single-person studios and modest, stunning ocean views to complete luxury rooms with a 24/7 butler service and private sundeck tacked on.

Either way, they promise the best cruise experience with a mix of amenities to keep everyone entertained and content between stops!

Last year, the GVHA estimated around 330 cruise ships docked at the Victoria Cruise Terminal over the seven month season from April to October.
