One suspect is at large after a woman was the victim of a pepper-spray attack in Centennial Square on Wednesday evening.
In a media release, VicPD say they responded to a report of a woman being pepper-sprayed in Centennial Square, in downtown Victoria on November 2nd at around 8:30 p.m.
Police say officers arrived on scene to find bystanders trying to help the woman who had been attacked; she was screaming for help.
Paramedics arrived on scene, took over medical care and transported the woman to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The woman told police she had been approached by a man and another woman who were demanding the victim give them money before attacking her with pepper-spray.
According to police, the man was caught and taken into custody and police are still searching for the second suspect.
The man was released with conditions and a future court date.
Police say their investigation thus far indicates it was a targeted attack.
