With the annual Victoria Pet Expo happening this weekend, we couldn’t be more excited to get our fill of all of the furry, feathered and scaled friends at Pearkes Arena!

Victoria Buzz will be on location on Saturday, May 4th, so come say hi! Also, the first 100 people through the door Saturday and on Sunday will receive free pet-themed goodie bags – so get there early!
We could probably continue this list forever, but here are 7 things you need to know about the Victoria Pet Expo before it happens this weekend – because we know you’ll be there!
1. You’re allowed to bring your favourite animal companions!
That’s right, the Victoria Pet Expo isn’t just for us humans! Owners are welcome to bring along their pets, as long as they’re well-behaved, in full control and have a signed waiver form.
2. Dachshund races are most definitely a thing
Do you have a wiener dog that loves to race? If so, the annual Dachshund Dash is for you! Even if you don’t have a participating pup, everyone is welcome and encouraged to watch and cheer on your favourite racer!
If you’re interested in registering your Dachshund for the Dachshund Dash this year, you can do so online – registration is FREE with handlers paid admission and included in your entry is goodie bag, ribbon, certificate and a chance to win the grand prize – worth over $200 for 1st place winner each day!
3. The Victoria Pet Expo will have an animal communicator onsite
Dale McCarthy helps owners connect to what is going on with their pet, and has the ability to communicate with animals by receiving their thoughts. Each pet shares insights that are so fascinating and amusing, that owners are usually laughing and crying during a session. She will be presenting at the Expo on both Saturday and Sunday!
4. There will be lots of fun for the whole (furry and non!) family
The expo can be a great day (or two!) for the whole family – there’s free face painting and animal balloons for kids, cat-colouring station, and best of all, kids get in FREE! Also, while you’re there, don’t forget to shop for the purrfect Mother’s Day gift. It’s going to be a positively fabulous weekend of fun!
5. You can watch pets do some impressive tricks!
Avid Agility is once again thrilled to be showcasing their dogs at this year’s Pet Expo. They will have some exciting new tricks in store, PLUS the agility demos with music featuring some amazing dogs.
6. The event will be held at Victoria’s Pearkes Arena
A fantastic venue to showcase all things animal-related, the Victoria Pet Expo will be held at Pearkes Arena once more – the two-day event is happening Saturday, May 4th, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 5th, 10 a.m to 4 p.m.
7. You still have time to grab your tickets!
Tickets are available online, and day passes are $8 for adults, and $6 for senior/student/military – weekend passes can also be purchased online or at the door!
