A few rain drops are expected this weekend, but according to the forecast, summer-like weather is on the way! So don’t let a little liquid sunshine get in the way of a good weekend – here are a few things happening around Victoria.

1SD62 PACE Musical Theatre Presents CineMusic

  • What: High-energy and comedic musical performed by the students of SD62. They will showcase favourite songs from films such as Pitch Perfect, Disney’s Teen Beach, The Muppet Movie, Pink Panther and so much more. Calum Worthy, actor for the DISNEY Channel, will be hosting this weekend’s performances. Calum, who is a graduate of the SD62 PACE Musical Theatre program will be available 30 minutes prior to each of those shows in the theatre for photos and autographs! Tickets available at the Westshore Centre of Learning, or call to reserve at 250-391-9002. Tickets may be purchased at door. $10/seniors and children, $12/adults.

2Vancouver Island Pet Expo

  • What: This expo you will have the opportunity to see a wide variety of animals up close, experience talented pets during a presentation and learn everything you need to know about your pet. Plenty of exhibitors. More information available here.

  • Where: Pearkes Recreation Centre, 3100 Tillicum Road

3Victoria Spring Expo

  • What: Over 280 exhibitors to see at one location, in three arenas. With spring upon us its time to tackle those projects – there is something for every room in your home! From renovations, decorating tips, furniture, gardening and so much more. More information here. Admission FREE.

4HSBC Canada Women’s Sevens

  • What: Come out and support Canada Women’s Sevens Teams during the World’s Best National Rugby competition. Tickets available here.

5Saanich Cycling Festival

  • What: Explore Saanich by bike and cycle to any of the 8 Celebration Stations on the route. Plenty of activities for this family event, passport booklet provided. Decorated kids bike ride starts at 1:00pm. More information available here.

6Victoria Craft Beer & Culinary Tour

  • What: Tour highlights include: 7 local craft beer samples from 4 stops, 3 food samples, guided tour of the historic Lower Johnson and Market Square, history and stories about the local craft beer scene and an art tour at Swan’s Hotel & Brewpub. $65, more information and registration here.

7Sunday Funday

  • What: Live music and lots of different vendors selling everything from local produce to jewelry and everything in between. Brunch will be available.

84th Annual Camosun Comic Arts Festival

  • What: Hosted by the college’s Comics & Graphics Novels program, the festival is a celebration of the artistic and literally impact of comics and graphics novels created locally, nationally and internationally. Admission is FREE. More detailed information available here.

9Sidney’s Spring Open House

  • What: Stroll the avenue and see what the local merchants have to offer. There will be product demonstration, refreshments and a chance to win some great prizes.
