A 33-year-old Langford man was arrested after a West Shore RCMP officer recognized him as a suspect wanted for an assault against a homeless man.
On June 17th, an officer was conducting routine patrols of the homeless encampments at Danbrook Park in Langford when they came across the man.
The man was taken into custody and during the subsequent search, officers located over 30 grams of suspected methamphetamines in his possession, along with other paraphernalia and evidence indicating that he is a drug trafficker.

The man was found to have a substantial quantity of meth and evidence of drug trafficking on him at the time. Further charges on the way!

The man was later released from custody on an undertaking for the assault. RCMP said the drug trafficking investigation is still underway, however, charges are expected.
“All members of this community deserve to feel safe including those experiencing homelessness. Any time we can disrupt the dealers that prey on them, it is a priority for us,” said Inspector Stephen Rose, Operations Officer of the West Shore RCMP.
