Share

A special weather statement has been issued for coastal areas of southern BC, including the western section of Vancouver Vancouver Island on Tuesday.

According to Environment Canada, residents in the area should brace themselves for strong winds reaching up to 80 km/h.

The forecast indicates that a cold front will move across the south coast, followed by powerful northwest winds along the west side of the island. The most intense gusts are anticipated along exposed coastal sections.

The impact of these strong winds should not be underestimated.

The weather agency warns that loose objects have the potential to become dangerous projectiles, causing injury or damage. Moreover, power outages are likely, and there is a risk of fallen tree branches.

It is essential to exercise caution during this period and take appropriate safety measures.

Motorists are advised to be prepared for changing road conditions due to the high winds.

Additionally, the wind could affect the Cameron Bluff wildfire near Cameron Lake.
