Once again, BC Ferries is having to cancel some sailings.
Due to a mechanical problem onboard the vessel Coastal Celebration, two BC Ferries sailings connecting Victoria and Vancouver were canceled on Monday.
Specifically, the 10 a.m. sailing from Swartz Bay and the noon sailing from Tsawwassen were affected.
According to BC Ferries, the issue was with the vessel’s propulsion system.
Unfortunately, other sailings for Monday may also face cancellation while the crews work to resolve the problem.
The following sailings between Victoria and Vancouver are at risk of cancellation:
2 p.m. departing from Swartz Bay
4 p.m. departing from Tsawwassen
6 p.m. departing from Swartz Bay
8 p.m. departing from Tsawwassen

“We are working to fix this and will keep you informed as more information becomes available. As soon as the problem is resolved, the vessel will resume service,” said BC Ferries in a statement on their website.
The Coastal Celebration just returned to service earlier this month after undergoing a refit in late June.
