An online fundraiser has been launched for two young men who suffered life-threatening injuries in a stabbing that took place over the weekend.

On Saturday, September 16th at around 6 p.m., an altercation occurred on a BC Transit bus in the 6600-block of Sooke Road which ended when two youths were stabbed.

The two who were injured have been identified as Cameron Martin and his friend who is only referred to as Nyke.

Someone close to the families whose children were stabbed, Brooke Ervin, has now stepped up to start a GoFundMe for the victims.

According to Ervin, both boys had to undergo several surgeries to save their lives after both were left in critical condition following the stabbing.

“Cameron had an artery severed and a collapsed lung due to multiple stab wounds,” Ervin said on the GoFundMe page.

“Nyke was stabbed seven times trying to defend his friend, saving his friend’s life.”

The families of both young men have been traumatized and have had to take time off work because of this situation.

Ervin is hoping that the community can now band together and raise funds to aid the impacted families’ burden during this time.

She is asking that anyone who is able to donate, give what they can to the fundraiser and she will distribute the funds equally.

As of this publication, the GoFundMe is at just over $1,600 with a goal of $10,000.

The donations will be split between both families.

Police say they have apprehended a 21-year-old suspect they believe to be responsible for this life-altering attack.
