Hundreds brave wet weather to mark Remembrance Day in Victoria (PHOTOS)

In spite of the inclement weather, a sizable gathering braved the rain to converge at the BC legislature in Victoria on Saturday, November 11th, to partake in and observe this year’s Remembrance Day ceremony for the province.

Wreaths were solemnly laid at the Victoria Cenotaph by veterans, current military personnel, politicians, and families, paying tribute to the sacrifices of Canadian soldiers in the World Wars, the Korean War, and various peacekeeping missions.

A procession of hundreds marched down Government and Belleville streets, with nearly 2,000 onlookers lining the roadways to show their respect.

The commencement of the ceremony was heralded by the singing of the national anthem, succeeded by the poignant notes of the Last Post.
