It’s time to mark the holiday season!

In preparation for Saturday’s festivities, specifically the 41st annual Peninsula Co-op Santa Claus Parade, the downtown marina in Victoria’s inner harbour will be undergoing an official Light Up Kickoff event!

Watch the downtown waterfront come to life with a new holiday spark and get excited for the promise and joy that this time of year brings.

Onlookers can gather at the Causeway Marina across from the Fairmont Empress between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.—visitors are encouraged to walk the docks to explore the lighted vessels while you sip on free hot chocolate.

There may even be another Christmas surprise up the city’s sleeve!

After the light up and throughout the holiday season, downtown wanderers will be able to soak up the beautiful transformation that downtown undergoes to celebrate this joyous season.

So, don’t worry if you can’t quite make it down—there’s plenty of time to bask in the glow of all the lights and displays.

Then the parade will commence on Saturday, November 25th in a flurry of over 60 floats and stunning holiday decorations.

So, slap on your toque and mitts and get downtown to witness the glory of all of the lights and holiday cheer.

The route for the parade begins at Belleville and Government Street and it’s scheduled to start at 5:20 p.m.

The floats will move north along Government, east on Humboldt, and then north on Douglas, where it will end at Fisgard.

Following the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be taking photos by donation at the Hudson Holiday Plaza (Victoria Public Market) along with drinks and goodies!
