BC-wide Amber Alert issued for abducted 2-month-old girl in Surrey (UPDATED)

UPDATE: Surrey RCMP have cancelled the Amber Alert for 2-months old Ari Jenna Rose McCauley. No other details were released as of this publication.

Police deactivated the Amber Alert after the the baby was safely located.

Police responded to a call in the 7700 block of 146A Street around 6:30am on December 9th.

As a result of the investigation, Surrey RCMP attempted to pull over a white 2002 Chevy Suburban which failed to stop.

Police said based on the information available, criteria for an Amber Alert and the imminent concerns for the well-being of a 2-month-old child, an Amber Alert was activated at around 12:25pm.

As a result of tips from the public following the issued Amber Alert, police were able to locate the suspect and child in Chilliwack.

The 28-year-old suspect was arrested without incident and remains in custody, and the investigation is continuing.

Surrey RCMP thanked the public and media for their assistance in this matter.

Surrey RCMP has issued an urgent Amber Alert for a 2-month-old baby girl who was abducted, reportedly by her father, sparking a province-wide search.

The suspect, identified as Skylar McCauley, 27-years-old, is believed to be travelling in a white 2002 Chevy Suburban with the BC license plate RD862E.

The incident occurred in Surrey, and the suspect was last seen heading southbound on 176th Avenue in Surrey.

Descriptions provided by authorities indicate that McCauley is approximately 5’8” tall, with a heavy build weighing around 250 pounds. He has blonde hair and facial hair, and at the time of the abduction, he was reportedly wearing a tan/beige canvas jacket (Carhartt style) with a hood and blue jeans.

Authorities have strongly advised the public not to approach the suspect but to immediately contact 911 if they have any information or spot the vehicle matching the description provided.
