Nanaimo RCMP in conjunction search and rescues teams are actively searching for a man whose skiff was found washed ashore.
In a media release, police said search teams are combing the area for a man who was last seen using a skiff that was discovered washed ashore on an island near Nanaimo.
According to Nanaimo RCMP, 35-year-old Ryan Pratt was reported missing by friends on December 2nd. Pratt resided on a sailboat anchored off Hammond Bay.
An extensive search of the shoreline and nearby waters by Search and Rescue, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre and RCMP West Coast Marine Services was conducted but Pratt has yet to be located.
Additionally, he was not found at his residence, the sailboat where he resides.
