5 things to do in and around Victoria this Tuesday, January 16th

Cheers to a beautiful Tuesday!

The sun is supposed to peak out intermittently and there are plenty of activities to keep the day fresh and entertaining.

If you’re feeling brave, take a trip to the Victoria Bug zoo and marvel over the world’s creatures or sing your heart out at the Vicious Poodles’ karaoke night!

If dancing is more your pace, Victoria Event Centre is hosting another Bands!Bands!Bands! night and Darcy’s Pub will also have a rotation of local artists to check out.

Bands!Bands!Bands!

The Victoria Event Centre (VEC) is hosting another Bands!Bands!Bands! night and they’ve prepared a lineup of four local bands for you to enjoy!

Featured artists will include Luna Land, Chilko in the Rosemary, The Deadly Hiyas, and The New Owners.

Bring your pals and support Victoria’s booming music scene!

Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door.

Acoustic Session at Darcy’s Pub

Every Tuesday Darcy’s Pub offers an acoustic set featuring two different local artists for you to enjoy while you sip on a refreshing beverage.

Additionally, they offer a $5-off special on tacos!

No tickets are required, just make sure you arrive with plenty of time to snag a table.

Kennel Club Karaoke at Vicious Poodle

The Vicious Poodle is well known across the city and is said to host some of the most interactive and enjoyable gay bar experiences!

They have plenty of events throughout the week, including the hot Kennel Club Karaoke taking place every Tuesday, hosted by Henrietta Dubét.

Grab your pals and make sure you grab a table as soon as you can and put your songs into the karaoke rotation—spots fill up fast!

Wander Through the Royal BC Museum

Founded in 1886, the Royal BC Museum is one of Canada’s greatest cultural treasures and home to precious stories, history, and artifacts.

There are always a wonderful list of rotating exhibits, ensuring every visit is an exciting one!

Right now, they’re offering three different exhibitions: Dinosaurs of BC, Natural History Gallery, and BC Archives on Display.

Take the family and immerse yourself in the wonders of the world! Admission for adults is $18, $11 for kids, and free for kids aged 5 and under.

Take Yourself on a Bug Zoo Adventure

Described as a hands-on experience you’ll never forget, the Victoria Bug Zoo offers a close-up look at some of the most wonderful (and often horrifying) creatures in the world!

Marvel over the blending abilities of certain insects, gawk at the hairy legs of tarantulas, and admire the strength of ants.

You may even get the opportunity to hold something, if you dare!

Admission varies depending on age—$16 for adults, $8 for children aged 5 to 17, and free for 4 and under.
