Thank goodness, we have arrived at another weekend, Victoria!

This weekend is filled with excitement, wonder, and events that will surely entice you to venture outside despite the chill.

From birthday celebrations with Herald Street Brewing or Frances Hope, to a classic evening of stellar jazz, or catching an old cult classic film, there will be something for everyone to enjoy!

Don’t miss Cirque du Soleil’s final shows here in Victoria—it’s an exceptional testament to human capability and grace.

Cirque du Soleil

Life is a spectacle—especially when Cirque du Soleil is part of it!

The largest theatrical producer in the world announced their famed show ‘Corteo’ returned to the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre on January 11th and will carry through until Sunday, January 14th.

Directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, this surreal production first featured in Montreal in 2005, and has since become one of Cirque du Soleil’s most popular shows, airing in over 64 cities in 20 countries on four continents.

Frances Hope Birthday Show

It’s Frances Hope’s birthday, and you’re all invited!

She’ll be celebrating her birthday doing what she loves—performing for an enthusiastic audience looking to dance and socialize with friends.

Kate Wyatt Quartet

Following a sold-out show at last summer’s Victoria International Jazz Festival, Montreal pianist Kate Wyatt returns to Hermann’s Jazz Club this Saturday!

She will be joined by renowned Montreal bass player, Adrian Vedady, and local legends Roy Styffe on saxophone, and Kelby McNayr on drums.

Wyatt is critically acclaimed and has been said to be making some of Canada’s most exciting small-ensemble jazz these days!

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online or in person.

Catch a Movie at Vic Theatre

As a part of their Cult After Dark series, the Vic Theatre is hosting a late-night screening of Robocop for the “dark future edition” of the program.

The film was directed by Paul Verhoeven and was released in 1987!

Relish in this cult classic and witness the evolution from ’80s special effects to cutting-edge visuals, offering a glimpse into the AI-powered realities of today.

Herald Street Brewing’s Birthday Party

In celebration of Herald Street Brewing’s third birthday, they’re holding a party that will last throughout the day!

FORZA at Quadratic Sound

FORZA is back for another electrifying round, continuing their tradition of fostering a vibrant, inclusive space through the power of music and dance.

LUNA Ukrainian Carol Concert

There’s a concert being held to aid those impacted by the continuing conflict in Ukraine.

Head over to Ukrainian Catholic Church of St. Nicholas to enjoy a late-afternoon of soulful and beautiful caroling in their honour.

Admission is by donation.

The Prowl at Irish Times Pub

Irish Times is inviting you to come and check out local band, The Prowl this Sunday!

The Prowl is a Victoria cover band that pulls from various genres such as soul, pop, rock and funk, featuring covers by acts like Nirvana, The White Stripes, The Beatles, Amy Winehouse, and Doja Cat.

Fronted by lead singer Gillian Davis, The Prowl is sure to provide a high-energy, soulful, and fun evening!
