It was a busy couple days for RCMP investigators after two separate stabbing incidents in Duncan last week.

The first incident unfolded at approximately 6 p.m. on December 28th. Police received a distress call from a business located in the 119 block of the Trans Canada Highway, reporting a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers found an 18-year-old man in need of urgent medical attention after an altercation with an unidentified assailant. The victim was rushed to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses described the suspect as a Caucasian man, standing approximately 5’7” tall, with brown/blonde hair, donning a black toque and puffy jacket. The suspect, potentially known by the name “Keenan,” fled the scene before police arrived.

A day later, on December 29th, another distressing incident was reported.

At around 7:20 p.m., officers responded to an assault outside the Tim Hortons on 166 Trunk Road. Witnesses recounted a physical altercation involving several individuals targeting a man, with one potentially wielding a knife.

However, upon police arrival, the suspects had dispersed, and no victims were identified or found.

Police said both incidents remain under investigation and are believed to be separate and isolated, posing no risk to the public.

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are seeking additional witnesses to come forward. If you have any information, please contact them at 250-748-5522.
