After spending three days searching for Gagne, the search was called off on February 5th due to the water levels and the river’s flow, which prevented the RCMP Dive Team from conducting a search.
Police reported that a team with NSAR took the lead in recovering her body from the river on Thursday, with assistance from police and firefighters.
Her tattoos were subsequently used to help identify her.
The BC Coroners Service has been notified and is conducting its own investigation into Gagne’s death.
