The renowned taco and burrito restaurant chain whose humble beginnings started with a food truck in Tofino announced they will be opening a new location in Langford’s Westshore Town Centre this week.
This will be Tacofino’s 13th iteration, all of which range in style of cuisine while never deviating from the original idea—good, west coast inspired tacos.
This new location is set to host a soft opening this weekend to allow its staff the chance to get the feel of the new space and work out any kinks they need to before its official launch.
The new location will reportedly seat up to 30 patrons at a time while also offering take out.
Some of their more well-known dishes from the other 12 locations will be available, including the fish taco which made them famous and their well-known crispy chicken burrito.
They say they will also ensure they have a wide range of vegetarian options, with all their food being regionally and ethically sourced.
The decor of the new spot borrowed ideas from the Shiloh Sukkau-designed Yaletown and Squamish locations and was designed in collaboration between Victoria-based Edda Creative and Tacofino Co-Founder/Creative Director Kaeli.
Additionally, a long-time Tacofino employee/collaborator Courtney Presber had the opportunity to design and paint a massive mural inside the new restaurant.
“Vancouver Island really is the spiritual home of Tacofino, and we’re excited to be able to grow into an exciting community like Langford,” said Managing Partner Mike Dawson.
“Not only is it filled with great hiking and biking, but it’s also the gateway to some of our incredible West Coast outdoors. We’re very excited to open our third Vancouver Island location here,” he exclaimed.
Beginning this weekend with the restaurant’s soft launch, Tacofino Langford will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
