North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP investigate possible shots fired at security officer

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are looking for witnesses after it was alleged that shots were fired at a security officer.

The alleged incident occurred at around 2:50 a.m. on December 24th near Waters Road.

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP said they received reports that shots were fired towards a Mosaic security officer.

Police said initial details indicated that two black vehicles with large off-road tires were parked 8 km down Holt Mainroad and 1 km up Holt 97 at a T-junction. Upon the security patrol’s approach, several shots were purportedly fired in their direction.

Police attended the area but were not able to locate the vehicles. Consequently, the area was closed off to the public the following day, allowing investigators to conduct a thorough investigation.

There were no injuries stemming from the incident and police have ruled the incident as isolated.

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP said their investigation into the incident is ongoing and are seeking any additional witnesses to come forward. If you know anyone who was in the area, witnessed this event, or has video footage, contact the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at 250-748-5522.
