Local RCMP have called in the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) to investigate a homicide in Sayward.
Police were called on February 6 for a report of an incident at a residence in the 900-block of Frenchman Road in the North Island community.
Upon arrival, Sayward RCMP officers found a man suffering from life-threatening injuries. He subsequently died.
VIIMCU has assumed conduct of the investigation and is working with the Sayward RCMP detachment, Integrated Forensic Identification Services and the BC Coroners Service.
One local man was taken into custody but has now been released.
