Not sure if an ice cream parlor is a go-to winter destination? Think again!
Located at Uptown Shopping Centre, Softys ice cream has gained quite the name for itself through the summer months—becoming a top-notch stop for mall visitors and foodie lovers alike.
Plus, everything they do is vegan and dairy free!
They wanted to make sure their fans would still have a reason to say hello as the days get chillier, as well as provide families a place to stop for a delicious winter treat while they participate in holiday activities.
So, have no fear! As the days grow shorter and the wind picks up, Softys is here to warm your bellies with new heated, spiced, and Christmasy menu items.
“We’re really going to lean into holiday flavours,” said Brett Andersen in an interview with Victoria Buzz.
“We have some winter sundaes…we just launched Earl Grey. We’re going to do Orange Cranberry and maybe Gingerbread too.”
Another hot new addition is the Warm Apple Crumble, with a warm apple topping, their iconic vanilla ice cream, cookie crumble, and cinnamon.
They’re also launching a dessert match made in heaven—s’mores and waffles combined into one delicious S’moreo treat with two waffle bites, french chocolate sauce, oreo cookie crumbs, and marshmallows.
“We’ve been really trying to refine our waffle recipe because we’re proudly obsessive over what we do. We really want to be able to offer something that we believe is really delicious.”
“Whether you’re dairy free, vegan, or neither, we want you to try our product because we really stand behind it.”
They are offering a churro style waffle bites (tossed in cinnamon sugar) and plain belgian-style waffle bites with your choice of sweet dipping sauce.
“We love using our caramel dipping sauce…we go through so much because people are crazy about it.”
In addition to their delectable new desserts, they’ll be serving hot chocolate as well!
“We’ll sell the waffle bites in bundles of three and offer combos too with hot chocolate…we want it to be affordable for people…as well as a top tier product.”
Andersen believes they’ll be offering their winter menu until March, so make sure you give yourself time to go back for seconds and thirds before then.
