One man is lucky to be alive after he was found partially stuck under a van Sunday afternoon.
The incident occurred just before noon in the 4000-block of Douglas Street of Saanich.
Police and fire crews arrived to find the man partially trapped under the vehicle. Firefighters quickly freed the man before paramedics arrived.
Saanich Police say that the man had attempted to repair his vehicle and was underneath it when the vehicle moved and dragged him.
According to witnesses in the area, the owner of the vehicle drove the van onto a hill and then went behind the van to look under it, where it then rolled back onto him.
Const. Markus Anastasiades said the man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
