Update: The McCallum Thru Road is now open to traffic. City of Langford says paving in the lower improved area will be completed in March when weather permits the overlay paving to occur.

Rejoice those living in the West Shore! Heading to Costco or any of the big box stores in the area should get a little easier. The McCallum Road extension is nearing completion.
The new route which will connect traffic between the Millstream and Leigh Road Interchanges will allow commuters to continue west along McCallum Road from Costco to the Leigh Road/Trans Canada Highway interchange.
Weather dependent, the City of Langford anticipates the McCallum Road extension will be opened in March.
The connector is expected to help alleviate the heavy traffic to Langford’s busy big-box shopping area north of the Trans Canada Highway, but is also an essential component of 899 McCallum Road, a new 7.7-acre mixed-use commercial and residential development along McCallum Road between Secretariat Way, Cavalcade Terrace and the Trans Canada Highway.
